Training and Events

The Special School Network is an online space dedicated to supporting those teaching music in specialist schools and settings, as well as alternative provision. Each network has a theme that we focus the agenda on, bringing in experts and sharing our own best practices and experience. Our aim is to equip teachers with the teaching tools and knowledge to aim high in their practical teaching of inclusive music-making. The networks are suitable for Specialist Music Leads, SENDcos, SLT and classroom teachers teaching music in specialist schools and mainstream schools.

The UpRising Hivemind is a free termly online space designed to deliver peer-to-peer support on topics surrounding teaching music to young people with additional needs. We aim to create a friendly and supportive space for instrumental and classroom teachers to share experiences and explore creative approaches that can make a difference to our classroom practice.

Each session brings together practitioners from mainstream and specialist settings, offering a platform to ask questions, share challenges, support colleagues and discover new ideas and resources to enhance your inclusive music-making delivery.

All are welcome to share their experiences – no question or topic is too basic, and no challenge too complex.
